V Polish Conference of Genetics "Genomica"

  1. V Polish Conference of Genetics “Genomica” is organized by the Scientific Association of Biotechnology Students “Mygen”, acting in the Faculty of Biochemistry, Bophysics and Biotechnology of the Jagiellonian University.
  2. The Conference is going to take place from 5th to 7th April 2019 at the Institute of Zoology and Biomedical Research of Jagiellonian University, Gronostajowa Street 9, Kraków.
  3. The official website of the Conference is www.genomica.pl.
  4. The Conference is dedicated to undergraduate students, graduate students and PhD students.
  5. The official languages of the Conference are Polish and English.
  6. The subject matter of the Conference includes general and molecular genetics.
  7. The Scientific Committees established for this purpose, consisting of scientific employees of universities and research institutes supervise the scientific quality of the speeches.
  8. There are two forms of participation in the Conference: active participation (giving an oral presentation or a poster presentation) and passive participation. Both require a payment of a registration fee.
  9. Conference applications are accepted electronically until 10th February 2019. Participating in the Conference is conditional on filling out and sending the registration form, available on the conference website. Applications that arrive after the deadline will not be accepted.
  10. Active Participants are obliged to send an abstract along with bibliography and a statement from their scientific supervisor in accordance with the templates available on the conference website not later than 10 February 2019. The Organiser will send the Participant a decision about accepting the submission not later than on the 3rd March 2019.
  11. Each active Participant can present only one oral presentation or poster.
  12. Oral presentations and poster presentations will take place in several sessions. The Organiser will assign the Participants to an appropriate session, based on the language and the subject of speeches submitted by Participants.
  13. The Organizer reserves the right to transfer presentations between sessions.
  14. Submitted abstracts will undergo selection by the Organizer, based on their scientific quality and compatibility with the subject matter of the Conference. In case of not being qualified for the selected type of participation (oral or poster presentation), the Participant may be asked to change the form of participation, including passive participation.
  15. Passive Participants will be qualified to take part in the Conference according to the number of available places.
  16. Each Participant is obliged to pay a registration fee in the amount of 100 PLN and to send a payment confirmation within the not extendible deadline, in accordance with the rules set in the terms and conditions (available soon on the conference website (http://www.genomica.pl/en/information/conference-fee/).
  17. The Organizer provides an option to issue an invoice. Information on how to obtain an invoice can be found on the conference website.
  18. In case of resignation from participation in the Conference later than 8th March 2019, the Organizer is not obliged to return the registration fee paid by the Participant.
  19. If the Conference does not take place due to circumstances beyond the control of the Organizer, the Organizer is not obliged to return the registration fee paid by the Participant.
  20. An oral presentation can be presented by no more than one person. In special cases, the Organizer may agree to an oral presentation by two Participants. Each of such cases will be considered individually.
  21. The poster presentation can be presented by no more than two Participants.
  22. Each oral presentation is allocated 15 minutes during the oral session, and each poster presentation is allocated 5 minutes during the poster session.
  23. The Participant presenting a poster is obliged to present their poster to other Participants of the Conference during the whole relevant poster session.
  24. Each Participant shall receive a conference package, which includes a book of abstracts and other conference materials. Participants are also eligible for taking part in accompanying events.
  25. The Organizer provides drinks and snacks during coffee breaks and one lunch (served on Saturday).
  26. The Organizer does not provide accommodation, nor covers the costs of travel and stay of Participants in Kraków.
  27. Each Participant, both active and passive, shall receive a proper confirmation of participation in the Conference, conditional on following these terms and conditions.
  28. The Organiser will reward the authors of the best oral and poster presentations, based on the evaluations submitted by the members of the Scientific Comittees.
  29. Participant is fully responsible for the potential damage caused by them at the place of the Conference.
  30. Personal data collected by the registration form are used only for the purpose of organizing the Conference and will not be collected or shared with third parties.
  31. The Organizer reserves the right to amend the Conference Programme.
  32. The Organizer reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions.
